On December 10, 1967, Redeemer Lutheran Church proudly opened its doors for services in Bramalea. Our church at that time sat on the northeast corner of a new satellite city. After much planning, the dreams and work of the members had finally become a reality, and just in time, at that, to be included in the projects of Canada's "Centennial Year".
It all began when Pastor D. Glass arrived in July 1964 to work with a few Lutheran members. Bramalea at that time was primarily bounded by Clark Blvd., Bramalea Rd., Steeles Ave. and Dixie Rd. To be more descriptive you could say gravel roads, orchards and corn fields. Services began in the cafeteria of Bramalea Secondary School and on June 13, 1965 the charter was signed by thirty-two members. Now the planning for the church building would begin and one of the first major steps of the first elected council was the founding of the building committee.
